Τα 90α Academy Awards έλαβαν χώρα το βράδυ της Κυριακής 4 Μαρτίου και είχαμε αρκετές ανατροπές που κανείς δεν περίμενε να δει. Μάλιστα, ούτε οι νικητές των φετινών Oscar δεν το πίστευαν.
Καταρχάς, το The Shape of Water κέρδισε το Oscar καλύτερης ταινίας, καθώς και τα Oscars σκηνοθεσίας, σκηνικών και μουσικής. Η Frances McDormand κέρδισε το Oscar καλύτερης ηθοποιού χάρη στο ρόλο της στο “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri”, ενώ ο Gary Oldman κέρδισε το αντίστοιχο βραβείο αντρών επειδή έπαιξε στη ταινία “Darkest Hour”. Ο Jordan Peele, ο σκηνοθέτης του “Get Out”, κέρδισε το βραβείο πρωτότυπου σεναρίου και έγραψε στο Twitter: “I just won an Oscar. WTF?!?”
